Different: Day 3

Today we are seeing the Israelites enter into the promised land. To do this, they will have to cross the Jordan. But we see in Joshua 3:15 that this was not going to be an easy task. The waters were at flood stage. This was not anything that the Israelites could accomplish on their own, but God is once again showing who he is and who he is with. 

God uses these impossible tasks to show His power, but sometimes even the miracles require us to get our feet wet. This water would not be a peaceful stream; it would be powerful and scary, and God tells them to wade into it. Think about the faith required to trust that God can see you through the high waters. Can you imagine leading the way? Getting one foot in and wondering why the water had not split yet, but continuing to move forward?

Where is God calling you to get your feet wet today? It’s scary, it’s different than he has led you through in the past, but sometimes, moving forward requires us to get our feet wet.

God, give us big faith, that even when the instructions require us to get messy, we can trust that you are going with us as we move forward. Help us to not question as we follow you, but that we can always look backwards and see that each step forward, not only reminded us who you were, but reminded others that you were always with us.
